Activities

Mornings will involve lectures in the Law Faculty on Sidgwick Site from University lecturers and eminent speakers from the legal profession and aim to give students an introduction into the subjects they will encounter as a Law undergraduate at Cambridge.

Afternoons give students the opportunity to partake in workshops organised by City law firms and barristers' chambers which focus on developing skills intrinsic to the legal profession such as debating, advocacy and negotiation.

Students will also be taken on a guided tour of Cambridge and will have the chance to investigate and experience the different colleges further.

Evening activities involve a range of events which crop up in the weekly activities of a normal student. There will be a social evening activity on the first night, a debate between high-profile academics and more.

Staying in Cambridge

Delegates will stay in undergraduate accommodation in one of the Cambridge colleges, to give delegates a unique view of life as a Cambridge student. All meals will be provided from dinner on Monday evening until Thursday breakfast.

We aim to provide delegates with a realistic experience of university life. This will involve a certain degree of independence for the delegates while they are on the Conference. For example, walking from venue to venue by themselves. We expect that delegates will use this independence to their advantage and treat this position with respect. To make sure that all Delegates are able to make the most of their experience, we will ask delegates to sign a Delegate Code of Conduct at the start of the Conference. If you have any questions about these expectations, please get in touch.

The Conference Committee is on call 24 hours a day throughout the Conference, and each College has a team of Porters on site for 24 hours a day. In the event of an emergency, we will contact the emergency contact provided.

Travel

Delegates are asked to make their own arrangements for transportation to and from Cambridge. Further information on where and when to arrive will be available to delegates once they have confirmed their conference place.
